Oakland Family Services’ 2018 Building a Brighter Future Breakfast attracted the largest crowd ever and exceeded its fundraising goal by raising $283,000! That means even more funding for the agency's prevention, education, and treatment programs, which support those in need of assistance in the community.

The results were announced June 5, at the annual Celebration Event, held at Northern Trust Bank.

“The support we receive from the breakfast will help Oakland Family Services work to build resilience in the people that we serve,” said board Chairman Paul DeRoche. The theme of this year's breakfast, held May 1 at the Townsend Hotel, was "Building Reslience."

From the guests attending the 6th annual Building a Brighter Future Breakfast, the agency received 42 new multi-year pledges and 75 first-time donors. The $283,000 raised this year brings the agency’s total for six breakfasts to $1,769,000.

“We’re so grateful to those who have contributed financially, as well as being a table captain over the years,” DeRoche said. “Thank you for helping us make this event a true success and supporting the agency for years to come.”
