Interview with Yves Brown, Maternal Infant Health Program Nurse

Yves Brown has been a registered nurse for eight years. As a Maternal Infant Health Program Nurse, she is an advocate for families, moms, and babies. Yves is very passionate about this patient population, and she enjoys getting out in the community and forming relationships with families.

The Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) nurtures health and wellness throughout pregnancy and infancy by partnering families with caring, trusted, and knowledgeable home visitors who serve the goals and needs of each family.  MIHP is free for Medicaid-eligible pregnant women, infants up to age one and their families. MIHP providers help pregnant women and families with newborns understand how to stay healthy. All pregnant women, infants and their families enrolled in MIHP have care plans developed just for them.

When you enroll in MIHP, a team of nurses, social workers, nutrition professionals, lactation consultants, and infant mental health specialists will work with you, your doctor, your health plan, and providers in your community to make sure you receive services to keep you and your baby healthy.

Visits are tailored to your family’s needs and may include topics such as:

  • Pregnancy, labor and delivery

  • Breastfeeding

  • Nutrition

  • Positive parenting

  • Infant health and development

  • Housing

  • Transportation

  • Immunizations

  • Mental health

  • Community resources
