KENESIA CHEATHAM

Director of Family Preservation

Kenesia has been with Oakland Family Services since 2004.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in family studies from Western Michigan University.

Kenesia has more than 20 years of experience working in child welfare, including as a foster care case manager. Child welfare is her passion and meeting the needs of families and children is her commitment.

As the director of Family Preservation, Kenesia supports Oakland Family Services’ foster care and adoption programs that find safe, loving homes for children and support foster, adoptive and biological families. In addition to supporting staff and clients, she ensures that the Family Preservation department is compliant with the policies of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
